Heos
Heos (Greek: ἕως) means “until,” “up to,” or “as far as the time when.” It names a faith that remains present through the waiting, not because the waiting is empty, but because God is faithful within it.
Matthew 28:20 gives this word its horizon: “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” The Greek phrase includes heos, until the completion of the age.
The chaste heart of St. Joseph
St. Joseph shows us this kind of fidelity: a chaste heart that protects what has been entrusted to it, obeys without needing applause, and remains with love until the work is complete.
HEOS is an invitation to stay with Christ, to guard the heart without closing it, and to let chastity become an integrated love that serves the person rather than using the person.
Until
To live until is to accept that formation takes time. The mission has a field, a season, and a process. We wait without becoming passive, work without demanding immediate fruit, and trust that God is present in the time between the promise and its fulfillment.
H — Honor
“To honor is to value something to the point of sacrifice.”
Honor is the beginning of healing. Before temptation is conquered, the heart must first rediscover what is sacred.
Honor God. Honor your body. Honor your vocation. Honor every person as God's beloved. Would I rather die than willingly betray the One I love?
Without honor, discipline becomes mere self-control. With honor, discipline becomes love.
E — Examine
“Know the movements of your heart.”
Examine without fear. What am I seeking? What am I truly desiring? What wound is speaking? What gift is God revealing?
Temptation often disguises a deeper hunger. The purpose of examination is not guilt. It is understanding.
O — Offer
“Nothing is wasted when offered to God.”
Offer every temptation. Offer every victory. Offer every weakness. Offer every memory. Offer every desire.
Grace transforms what is surrendered.
S — Service
“Love always moves outward.”
Healing reaches maturity when it becomes mission. Serve your family. Serve your parish. Serve those who struggle.
Become someone's rock. The healed become healers.
